Theres a couple of threads on it from about 4-6 months back. Basically half the people said its easy/cheapish. And the other half said its hard/expensive. From what i remember and the little research i did on it, its gonna set ya back a bit. Lookin at about 3k.. and a fair bit of work. I suppose it depends on who you know and what ya know.

T5 conversion is easy, cheap and crappy. T56 conversion is expensive but very tough.

yes, you need the pedal box and manual computer from the right vehicle. We did have some troubles with that as some places said oh yeah we can just flash your auto ecu to a manual. which you cant do.
so we got a computer from an rtv ute. it does however reduce the speed limiter on the car to 180 i think, whereas when we had it as an auto on the dyno it went past 200km/hr not that you are able to use those speeds on the road anyway, but if it was used as a track car that could prove annoying.

once we had the right computer in, and a clutch that wasnt stuffed and a gearbox that didnt have stuffed synchros we got the car into ford through a friend that works there and he said to us that he just did a systems check on it to make sure it was working properly.

I'll double check thats what he did but that was about it.

All good mate... Just chucked in manual conversion.. searched the right forum then sifted for the BA threads. 5 mins work.
Good luck with the conversion if you do it... The thought has crossed my mind a couple of times.

also some pedal boxes seem to be different pedal lenghts away from the accelerator pedal which can make driving them a bit of a pain as your foot will hit the brake pedal when accelerating with a big foot.

A parameters check Is the thing performed at ford for correct running.
And yes the pedals especially on XR range of falcons are too bloody close to the accelerator pedal

hehe parameters check, bit different to that sambo. the pcm (manual pcm to be put into the car) needs to be wiped then reprogrammed with a "tear tag". the pcm i ended up using on kens ba had rtv writen on it form the wreakers, but i'm not sure rtv's ever came out in manual form, they may have but i cant recall ever seeing 1. it was a lot of messing around on the program side as the wreakers initially sent an auto pcm, we tried for ages to program it with a manual program, but it will not happen. the 2nd pcm they sent was auto again the d***head, least we knew it that time and didnt stuff about with it. once they sent a manual pcm it was fairly simple to do, i was just unsure along the way as to weather it would work, since no1 had done it before. still dont know if the pcm that worked was from a ute or a sedan, but in any case the car runs. i dont think it really matters if it is ute or sedan, as the pcm only runs the engine, its the BEM that controlls the body side of things.

Its not too bad to do as long as you get a complete kit from the same car
