BA Falcon front inner control arm bushes lower

Has anyone got any tips about replacing the inner bushes on the front lower control arms on a ba? Apparently the originals are fluid filled and mine are rooted so i was wondering whats involved as they look like a**hole to replace. Also wondering wether to go nolathane or use standard?

Do yourself a favour and get someone to do it icon_smile.gif If it's the same one's i'm thinking of it's a prick of a job. I paid around $600-650 to get mine done with nolathane and it's well worth it

Your right they are not all that easy to do!
For what its worth -I would pay to have them replaced with nolathane as they will last longer if you plan to keep car for 5yrs or more,However the standard bush will give a softer feel with less road noise picked up.
I had a EL & had upper & lower all done in nolathane & it felt harder up front & there seemed more road noise but it handled better.
Chances are your top bush's aren't far behind either! may as well do them all & chuck in a camber kit as well.
How many clicks you got on the BA now? icon_sad.gif

59000kms. Looks like some dumbass didnt fit one of the bushes correctly from the factory,its not seated all the way in.

59000kms. Looks like some dumbass didnt fit one of the bushes correctly from the factory,its not seated all the way in.


If your interested, I'm running a group buy for Nolathane bush kits that ends next Friday when I will be placing the order. All the details are in a sticky thread at the top of the For Sale section.

A full front end B-Series kit is $360, so you could replace every bush at the same time.

I'm sure if you did most of the work yourself and got someone like Pedders to remove the bushes for you, it would be a fairly inexpensive job.

I might be going for super pro bushes as word around the traps is its hardness is somewhere between standard and nolathane. Most people are saying putting nolathane in the front of a BA will increase its harshness quite significantly.

That's interesting, the radius rod and its front bush does take most of the load when braking, and if it's soft, there will be a slight delay effect as the bush squashes. Upgraded braking with heavy application would exascerbate this effect.

But when a sharp bump is hit it also creates a similar type of load.

And when braking over sharp bump(s), the two loads add together.
