your going to get flamed for asking this question so ill answer it before anybody does.
check out www.snortperformance.com.au and go for the cheapest kit, if you dont want to do anything to the engine then get the cheapest snort kit.
snort kits can be had for 2499 on ebay. |

And so is the search button.
This has been covered a million and one times.
The Snort kits are good starters and probably the best value for money you'll find. But they are bare basics kits. For a reliable setup you will still need...
- Aftermarket ECU with a tune
- Aftermarket injectors
- Aftermarket fuel set up
- Intercooler piping
(- Hi-stall torque converter and shift kit if you're running an auto)
If you really hunt around for bargains then you'll be looking at around $4000-$5000 on top of the Snort Kit.
If you buy all new off the shelf gear then you're looking at anywhere north of $8000.
You really want to have a minimum of $10 000 set aside from what I've read.
If done properly, this will give you a nice reliable 200-250rwkw setup.
Any more power and you will be looking at rebuilding the bottom end, porting/polishing the head, new intake plenum, 3inch exhaust and further gearbox strengthening.
With the above you will be looking at another $10000+. But with that you can get anywhere up to and beyond 450rwkw
Just know that I'm only speaking from what I've read!!! I have not dared undertake turbo-ing my car... yet |

AU motors can handle 260rwkw ish with no mods.
Id go for either a stage 3 or 4 snort kit $4000ish
42lb ford motorsport injectors for $350
EMS 8860 for $1100 probably add about 400 for installation if you cant do it yourself and another 700 for dyno tuning
Bosch 044 or Walbro 255 fuel pump $400ish i think
Intercooler piping, set aside around $700 if you cant weld $300 if you can
Misc $500
$7000 if you can do most s**t yourself and all new stuff
$10000 If you cant do s**t.
It can be done for much cheaper if you shop around and get all used stuff and you can get quite good results. IIRC EFFalcon is getting around 190rwkw on gas for 3k. |
