Hi,

Will be doing a cruise install shortly, just wondering if the brake pedal switch, is the same as a clutch pedal switch?

If so, can these still be bought new?

Thanks,

Justin.

Just wondering if anyone knows if a brake pedal switch can be used on the clutch pedal?

Thanks,

Justin.

the actual switches themselves are very different. this thread has a pic of the AU clutch switch, which will most likely be the same as e series.

if you were keen i spose you could mod a brake pedal switch to work.

I'll have a look at the pedalbox tonight for you, if I remember.
Off the top of my head I think it is different, as in for some reason the clutch switch is electric where as the brake switch is vacuum.
Thats just a feeling though, I vaguely remember something like that.

never bothered with a clutch switch when i've installed a cruise unit - if ya can't remember to disengage the cruise when changing gears, get an auto...

The EF/EL's run a normally closed switch - brake switches are normally open.
For your EB, you might be able to run a brake switch with a 5 pin relay to do same - might need double pole contacts to control electrical and vaccy cutouts.
