Well after a few drinks my brother in-law sez he wants neons in his footwells, after me showing him some of the classy jobs done from here.
So all day today i tear apart his nice blue BA XR6T just so no wires are showing or will be pinched, 2 x blue 20cm ccfl's in the footwells (showed up nicely) and 2 x green 15cm ccfl's under driver and passenger seat.
The green ones were a pain in the a*** to mount as normal seating means flex and limited positions to mount, they do show up slightly but not what i was hoping.
He's happy, so i am too (i guess)
you can just see a little of the green in this shot, thank fcuk for 30 second exposure.
Isn't quite as vibrant to the naked eye as in these shots, more sort of looks like it's a standard ford feature, which is what i aimed for.

| looks sick good job man.. thats one thing im definatly been planning on doing in my car.. nice simple mod that makes being in the car more fun i reckon...

| What a fantastic job-well done. Are they connected to the interior light circuit, or wired independently?

Yeah i have connected them to the Parkers circuit, i also at a later date want to rig them into the left/right side courtesy lights, so that when either side doors are opened that side lights up.

Very clean job, mate. Good work! I got mine done back in December last year also, they look very nice at night time and add a real touch of class to your car. Funny thing is, it's probably the cheapest mod you can do yet the most visually impressive.
One question though, they look very bright in your first photos. Is that simply due to the long exposure time? I've always preferred footwell illumination to be a soft glow as opposed to a bright light. Just curious.

| It is a very soft glow, it's just the camera wouldn't let me take any shot (other than in auto) with less than 30 second exposure, we ran out of time to get any more shots as it took me the best part of all day to do.

Got a pm just now asking how i did this job, and i thought hey i may aswell post it up in case anyone else wants to tackle this job.
Time taken (including beers) about 6 hours, probably a lot less if you know your own car and you don't take apart the centre console then realising wires "tuck in".
ok under the seat there is only one spot, and that's cable tied to the power seat wires. It's the only spot that won't flex when someone is in the seat.
I then spliced the under seat lights into the under dash (left and right seperately) and ran the wires from the left under the dash itself along the floor and below the steering colum but above the big black plug and cable tied into position, and for the drivers side i cable tied the light inbetween the steering colum and attached it to that big black plug so it's not visible to the eye and also when the steering colum is adjusted the light moves with it.
I then found a nice good earth in that big black plug (i think it's the biggest black wire closest to the seat) and then in the fuse box i found the parkers circuit which i think was a blue 10amp 4 down from the steering colum and closest to the white relays.
