Check the refresh rate?

I'm dual booting my tweaked XP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit ultimate now.
Had no problems with Vista so far, but some of it can get frustrating at times!

Refresh rate is 60Hz, which is supposed to be the optimal for this screen. I can go to 75Hz, but it makes no difference.

The monitor could be on it's way out, but I doubt it. The problem only occurs when using vista.

I can't remember but I think ClearType is tunrned on by default in Vista? Try turnng it off...

On the issue of gadgets on the sidebar, there are some really good ones out there...

Get them from here:

http://vista.gallery.microsoft.com/vista/SideBar.aspx?mkt=en-gb

One I really like is the eBay one...it keeps you updated with items your watching, selling etc...

Also handy to have a little notepad there to scribble little reminders and stuff on...

I have some more issues with vista, but I'll update on the "fuzzy" issue first.

As it turns out it was a combination of things. The most important one being the refresh rate. Now, Like I said in the earlier post, it was set to 60hz. However, when I checked again a few days later, It was at 85hz. I dropped it back to 60hz, but it looked terrible. I could actually almost see it blinking/refreshing. Good for a headache. Now it's set to 72hz and all is well. Aside from that, I changed most of the fonts to "tahoma" but I've enabled clear type, because it makes the start bar look better.

Now, for my latest issue. Sometimes when I'm running bitlord, my internet will stop working. The strange thing is, bitlord is running fine, sending and receiving data no worries, but I can't access any web pages. I've tried pinging some but I can't remember if It worked or not. In any case, only a restart will fix it.

The other thing that happened once or twice was, my computer IP changed. I've got it set to 10.1.1.20, for my modem, but for no reason whatsoever, the internet stopped working, and I find the IP was set to 192.something.something.something random. This is a different issue to the bitlord issue, but again a reset fixes it.

Neither of these issues worry me much, because they don't happen often, but they are rather annoying.

Go to Motorola website and see if there is a Vista friendly install. I had similar issues. Not sure if I got another lot of software from the internet or ran my CD as administrator.
