There are a few things you can check.
Check the thermostat to ensure it is not stuck open and not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
Have a look in the engine bay to see if the hot water valve on the heater core inlet side is opening and closing as you change the heater control position from blue to red.
If the valve doesnt move then there is a fault either in the valve or the actuating system.
If the valve is operating as normaly then check the temperature of the inlet and outlet hoses to the heater core with the engine at operating temperature .... are they hot or cold?
If they are cold then for some reason water is not flowing.
Check and flush the cooling system to make sure there are no blockages etc.
I just had the same problem on my EF .... no hot water getting to the heater core caused by a broken thermostat (stuck open) and semi blocked cooling system.
All fixed by replacing thermostat and a good flush of the cooling system. |

| Most likely in the BA the air mix shaft has broken. Pretty common on them. |

all i know with my wagon they didn't come on because the thermostat was letting the water circulate around the engine so it wouldn't heat up so there was no reason for the fans to come on.
Cheers. |
