just wondering how much the 1636 cam with the shims to fit it and anythuing else i will need will cost. its 4 a ef xr6.

To supply an exchange cam is $235.00, which includes a refundable deposit of $100.00. You will need to return a suitable replacement cam back to us to get your deposit back.

Freight via Australia Post from Oakleigh to Goulbourn is approx. $20.00 and likewise for the return trip.

Shims can be procurred from your local Ford dealer. I'm not sure on the price.

No, they're shouldn't be referred to as lash caps.

Just wondering what camshaft you would recomend for an ef fairmont future plans are pacemaker extractors, 2.5 inch cat back, el gt snorkle and a k&n panel filter. would your 1004 cam be a good choice? and what other parts (besides shims) are required to change my cam from standard to a regrind? cheers in advance.

I apologise for being ignorant, but, what do you mean by 3V Modular? I've never heard of it!

Given that your running an auto, our recommendation would be our profile no. 1636. The 1636 was developed from the 1004, with the benefit of providing better idle characteristics.

The specifications are;

Apart from shims, there are no additional parts required.

Cheers

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. No excuses. I forgot.

We do have a small number of "profiles" for the SOHC 5.4L V8 motor. I guess it simply depends on what you're looking to achieve.

Cheers

I have looked at your catalouge and am wondering what the best cam would be.
Im looking at using a 351 cleveland in a truck and want the maximum power as low in the rev range as possible. I dont expect the engine to rev over around 4,000rmp ever. The 2 cams I think would be suitable are 328 and 328b, the only difference I can see is the inlet specs being a little different and lobe centeres.
Which would be the best cam?
The truck will be straight gas, stock internals with aftermarket inlet and extractors.
Thanks

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in responding.

The 328B with a lobe centre of 108 would be our recommendation. Stock springs will be fine.

The cost to supply a new cam, ground to 328B would be $209.00. Freight via Australia Post to the Gold Coast would be approx. $18.00.

Cheers

Chris
