| Hey nicco, slightly off topic, did you use a new clutch cable, and if so, what sort of $$ did you pay (PM if you want), cause i need a new one, and im sure thats part of the reason my clutch pedal sits out so far. |

I adjusted it 140mm from the floor. |
Mine is the same and I have a Mal Wood HD clutch. Full engaged is about 2 cm from the top (I think) but it starts to grab about 1/4 way up the travel. Makes engagement a nice gradual thing which is probably a good thing on a high torque engine. Especialy when you are tryna eat a pie while shifting. |

It can be hard to locate amongst the soundproofing. |
there is an anchor point as was stated ^ what i did when i replaced my spring i got a set of pointy nose pliers and pushed the clutch pedal fully in and attached it that way.. |

Tim: yeah i bought a brand new clutch cable. I rang around and got some quotes. Repco and Autobarn both wanted about $75 for the cable, but repco only wanted $10 to get it to Cairns. Autobarn was $15.
Super Cheap was $85 and Ford was $120.
I ended up getting mine from Repco.
Froudey: cheers for the tip. |

You can also use an EB/ED cable - it's around 4-5" longer than EF/EL, but the inner cable travel is the same.
Be interesting to see if the price is greatly different. |

Just to make sure, that you are measuring pedal travel, not pedal distance from the floor depending how you measure it i guess.
If you measure from the back of the pedal where it meets the carpet and the distance to the floor is a good indication of travel.
Duh i know, but just making sure..... |

ff: yeah, i measured the travel. it goes all the way to the floor, and i measured where it touches.
94: interesting. could you please tell me where "incorrectly" run is? and where properly run is. at the moment, i just played with ways to make it not touch the headers or anything moving. |

My cable runs forward and down from the firewall to about where the pwr steer rack pipes are and then I've got it cable-tied to the rack across to the other side where it curves back and up to the bellhousing clamp.
Interesting to hear the EF/EL cable is shorter, because the length of mine has always been a drama - ie. the bend radiuses where it goes onto and comes away from the rack are of necessity quite tight to take up the length - shorter would be perfect! |
