I reckon our simple tuning solution might have suprised a few people based on comment seen around the forum/s icon_biggrin.gif

Anyhow its win win for Ford people as we come forward with simple and super effective options that are proven beyond guesswork and myth.

Well I guess its time to write up the fitting instructions now, the people who bought the AU kits reckoned they hardly needed them ........ this kit is even easier.

Fordfan, how is the car going, been a few days more now icon_biggrin.gif

Sly

Yeah thanks mate, hope you are gettin well also. Been pretty cold of late which might not have helped you much.

This kit went harder than expected and maybe a touch more to come it seems which is all good.

Back to work doggy tomorrow. But now I have a month's backlog of domestic jobs, it'll be a while before I have enough credits for a day in the shed under the bonnet icon_sad.gif

I'm interested to hear a more in-depth summary of how it's running mate..

1. Rpm's at which you can feel power / boost come in
2. Idle quality
3. Noise at idle, and when under throttle
4. Smoothness of power / boost delivery
5. Heat build-up in blower housing, and also blower - throttle body pipe
6. Overall fuel economy
7. Quality of kit overall

Please give us your verdict / observations on the above!

Tim,

I would strongly suggest you change the piping arrangement..

From this...

To something shorter like this...

By that, I mean don't have such a long run of pipe going over the rocker cover.

The first straight run of pipe from the blower discharge, and the first bend is fine ...but from there I think you should loop it around to the throttle body as quickly as possible ...along the lines of my piping arrangement in the 2nd pic.

My reasons:

1. Much less air travel
2. Less heat pick-up from the Rocker Cover and Extractors
3. Looks neater
4. Lower cost, as less pipe needed

You will notice that my Red pipe has a stabilising outcrop welded to it that screws to the stock pipe mount turret (between airbox and washer bottle) ...maybe you could incorporate something like that in your design for stability.

There would also be nothing to stop you chopping your pipe design after the first bend from the blower, approximately where it goes over the BBM ...and then supplying the 2nd bend to the throttle body as an additional piece of pipe ...joined to the 1st blower discharge piece by another straight silicone joiner & clamps i.e. a TWO part blower - throttle body pipe that can flex at the 1st silicone join.

I hope you can understand all this mate, haha ...but I reckon the pipe would look heaps neater & be more functional, while still being stable, but more flexible in the 'engine vibration' zone.

Geez, I'm a pedantic f**ker icon_biggrin.gif ...but I hope you see my point(s) icon_wink.gif

Haha ...I think this will help..

Now just imagine all that in polished pipe, with the bypass valve mounted in it's regular spot.

Or if your guy is good ...you could get all this made up as a SINGLE piece of pipe from Blower to Throttle Body icon_wink.gif
