Stooged??
You bought a set of AU injectors for $120, yet injectors online sell em for $60 + GST EACH.
Which means instead of paying $360 you payed a third of that.
Yet the 2nd set on ebay is $297 for a set.
The Part numbers dont match up but have you checked the specs anyways? It might be one of those odd occurences where you can have a couple of different part numbers for the same product.
I have bought a set of injectors off ebay and have saved a few hundred for a set. I bought a set of 8 new injectors (bosch fms 42 lb green top) for $420, injectors online want $90 + GST each making a grand total of $792. |

ok, so they are a much bigger injector. the guy says | Quote: | hi,series 1 and 2 , two part numbers, but can use
it is 0280158188 same flow.thanks ausjap
- ausjap123 |
they have the four hole pattern in the tip however need 4 bar pressure to operate right! does that mean that the car will run as rich as hell because it wont be able to tune around it or is that about what the specs on an au one are?
thanks for the find phong! |

I'm not sure about it running rich. But from what I can make out is that the one you got requires 1.3 bar more of pressure to work at it's potential. I don't think the fuel regulator will allow enough pressure to reach 4 bar, but i could be completely wrong because I am unsure with fuel delivery and fuel regulator functions.
I would think you'd run lean since the injectors aren't fully pressurized. but now I am just guessing...
and no problems

ok, the EL injectors are about 19lb/m
the Au's are 20lb or so a min
these that i have are 32lb/m!
as a scenario, i have a 275kpa reg ready to go in, a full exhaust and a set of 4480 extractors. if it was your car, would you put them in? |

Personally I wouldn't I'd go as far as AUs, mainly because I have been told that they work just fine in the EL engine. Haven't heard of anyone using those ones (which I'll assume are BA ones) on an EL.
I think 32lb/min would be good if you have an upgraded fuel pump, fuel reg to make the most of it on a boosted application.
For safety's sake, I'd just stick the AU ones in, which I should be doing sometime soon.

my msg back to seller >>>
| Quote: | I would like to draw your attention to the injectors you have sold me (bosch 0280156186) they are not actually for an AU falcon. they are rated for a BA XR8 (an example here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BOSS-5-4-V8-32LB-FPV-XR8-INJECTORS-SET-OF-8-USED_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43807QQihZ007QQitemZ170240707241QQrdZ1)
these injectors are capable of 300rwkw and as much as i would like my car to produce that, i do not have a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator to supply the required pressure to run them.
these injectors also flow at 32lb/m where as i need around 20lb/m (bosch 0280155844)
as they are also for a v8 (which i dont have) it makes them useless to me.
i would like to return them and get my money back immediately. if it happens with out delay i will still leave positive feedback.
please call me at some point tomorrow on 0407090763 to sort this out.
Cheers
Dave |
i can't use them and i'm interested to see where this leads. unfortunetly i can't open a dodgy item report till a few days after. if worse comes to worse, i guess i'll sell them as a set for a boosted app or something |

Well you could ask him to trade it for a set of AU injectors...and they should pay the postage for you since they are the ones that stuffed up.

he refunded me the cash no questions.
now the big question, a set of au reco's or brand new? at that website they say that they dont respond so well to cleaning.
or is new worth more than half the price? |

| Which ever way you go, the AU injector is WAY WAY better than the old pintle. Much better atomisation. I noticed a huge difference in cold start/idle/lean burn tuning/economy. I have a stock EA with 340k on the clock with EMS 8860, AU injectors, 20 volts to the coil and best to date is 680km tank on a route where when it was stock was lucky to get 450km tank |
