|
|
| Hi all. Just purchased a new smartlock remote from ford dealer and went to carry out the programming procedure in the owners manual. Only problem is no rear demister function so can't program remote. I have checked the fuse, switch and both ok. Light on dash wont illuminate when rear demister switch pushed. Could it be an open circuit rear demister? Any help appreciated. Car is a 06/1995 NF Fairlane. |

| Check the conections and see that there are no breaks in the demister itself also welcome to the site |

| Also check that the demister lead is plugged into the correct switch, the antenna height and the demister can be swapped around accidentially. |

I had the dash out today to clean the climate control keypad. Had to disconnect the antenna switch and demister switch to remove shroud. They both seemed to be in the correct coloured sockets. Would anyone have a wiring diagram of this circuit. I still have to get a workshop manual.
Great to be part of this forum. Cheers.

Thanks twason. Pulled the dash shroud forward this morning and noticed both switches are black and have the same receptacle. The blue plug was at the bottom and the white plug at the top. As soon as I disconnected both I looked at the pin locations and noticed one plug has one pin offset. I looked for the same pinout on the switch and noticed the two were around the wrong way. Plugged them in correctly and programmed smartlock. The blue plug should be at the top (antenna height switch) and the white plug at the bottom (rear demist).
Thanks again guys for the quick response.
