There was a hands free car kit in my XR8 when I bought it.
Every 5 to 10 mins it turns to tele mode and cant be switched back from what I can see. the only way I can fix it is to restart the car or turn the unit off then insert a cd with it still off so it comes on when the cd goes in but then only plays the cd, tracks cannot be chosen and it cant be switched to radio.
Im putting in my system outta my old car but this is pissing me off in the mean time!
Any ideas? |

theres a trigger wire in a 4 pin plug near the fuse box that tells the unit to enter telephone mode... check that its not earthing somewhere in its own... if u dont use the car kit
unplug it from the 4 pin plug all together... |

in the back of the headunit there is a plug that is for the phone
just unplug it. 
you will see the main plug and the smaller one the smaller one is the phone one. |

There was only 1 plug on the rear of the unit and the ariel plug.
The handsfree was wired into the loom.
Ended up just Pulling the whole handsfree out.

I got excited when i read the title here.
TRU technologies make an AWESOME amp called a Sledge Hammer whic puts out something like 2000rms and is really good quality.
I thought you might have been getting one.
