|
|
Guys. Im after a Mandrel intake for the EF, with the bend all the way to the intake (not using the EL peice).
Does anyone know who in Brisbane will do these? - a good exhaust shop?
The one I normally use doesnt do them.

If they can weld then they can make them.
All you or they need is a box of pre-bent mandrel bent pieces of pipe, then they add straight bits where needed and weld it all up.
Any good exhaust place should be able to do this. |

its a little more than that.
a few pieces will need to be cut & welded on an angle to get the right shape. Your looking at a bit of money for someone to create a good design, plus for the stainless pipe |

I was looking at potentially using normal exhaust pipe - and painting.
Not after the under bonnet look. |

something like this one eh....
this took me bout half a day to nut out and purge weld. all 316 s/s. silicone tube sections are not fkn cheap!
at commercial prices for labour & parts i can see where defilipo gets their price from, not that i agree with it. if your going to make more than one of something you can make jigs, buy in bulk etc it's called production < meant to reduce price. |

| if you have no luck in getting one yet try rob bliss exhausts, if they dont do it the inly thing i could reconmend is buy a doughnut(its a mandrel bent bent ring) an buy a metre of straight pipe an go to an engineering work shop, they arent that hard to make it just takes time to cut every thing right the first time |

Work still in progress - doesnt rattle, but will be getting two mounts welded on to retain it anyway. Will also get a tidy up and paint.

No not really - but it doesnt blow to smithereens when the car backfires because I hadnt sorted an o2 sensor issue out.
Ive notices the restriction of the air filter though - I needed to drive around for 2 days without anything from the throttle body - Mmmm nice. |
