Hi! I'm new to the car modding scene and would like to start doing a few things to my EF Falcon including Diff & Cam upgrades and also the ECU.
I think I have my head around the Diff and Cam deal, like how they work, etc. but am stumped on the ECU..
Can anyone enlighten me by giving me a bit of a basic overview of what the ECU does and what to look for in an aftermarket one? I have a rough idea about it like they control the injectors and such, but my main problem is I have no idea what to look for in upgrading.
If it's relevant, I'm looking for good mid range power gains and have already upgraded the exhaust and CAI. It's also an Auto but dont want that to limit my choice of performance upgrades - a Hi-Stall or Manual conversion is not a problem and would honestly prefer a manual but if I can get away with a quick shift auto I would.
Thanks guys! Any replies are much appreciated! |

| If I had the time/cash to change my car to a manual, I would. I'm saving chips, etc. for when I look more into boost. |
