hi guys im able to pick up a viper alarm for really cheap from a friend his got 2 versions though one with remote start and one without. his selling them both almost same price although the one with remote start has a higher retail value.

so should i get the one with remote start? and would it be able to work with smart shield??

Not sure about smartshield, altho they used to say it was impossible to get remote start working on the smartlock series, however you now can with enough cash lol..
Id grab the one with remote start n suss out someone who is a good electronics wizz hehe! icon_wink.gif

you can get it working with a special thing thats holds a spare key in a holder so the car thinks it is in the barrel ...it conects to the alarm and is hidden right up under the dash

so it is possible... i really dont like the idea of leaving a spare key in the car while it is parked though even if it is hidden... any other ways around it??

This unit Locks the key inside it you cant see it or get to it ...it is just used to buypass having to have to have the key in the barrel

hmmmm thats interesting , ive been looking into this a bit lately and i know for ef el there is a box which switches off smartlock but doesnt do smartshield, its interesting to know that there is one for the au smartshield also

Ive been looking into this also, ive rung at least 6 places who have all said they have no clue how to do it and will see if they know of anyone who can; no replies as of yet, doubt they will.

Im very very keen on remote start, just cant fond anyone who can do it! icon_evil.gif
