hey guys
i was going to put a cd player into the ed
but now worked out i cant as the factory security coded 1 is bolted in with some weird a** ford screws
does any1 no how to undo these
or just the code for the original radio and tape deck would be good
as that sounds pretty goodany help would be good

You need to purchase the correct tool. Jaycar should sell them. I believe they are called a torx bit.

When I worked in the industry.. I could never find my bit so I alwaus just used my pair of fine snips to turn the screws.. never failed for me..
snap-on sell the bit also. |

Well, you could cut a slot in the top and use a flat blade screw driver, but is a REAL HASSELL!!!
Or you could grind/cut the top off with a grinder or a dremel. Lots of fun!!

You will need to contact Ford with the VIN and they should be able to look it up for you. The code is unique to the car. Best opiton is to go and buy an el cheapo CD player.

| If its the same screws that are in the ef/el's then bunnings sell the peices(no idea what they are called) in a set to get em out. |

well if it is those then yeah bunnings sells a set.small to large.bout $35 i think from memory. |

| gee i cant belive no one knows what they are. its a torx bit, you can buy kits. i belive its a t6 bolt, so a size 6 torx bit will do it, can get a set from bunnings for about 30 bucks aint no special tool at all. super s**t used to sell them aswell, also if u have a total tools they sell em. |

its called a tamper proof bolt
kincrome make the bits bunnings sell the bits most auto stores will sell
even cheapo 2 dollor shops have em
easy 2 find lol i got 4 sets here
makes things real easy with the right tools best thing is u can BUY tamper proof bolts aswell no no more people undoin ya plates with screwdrivers (they have to snap the plate off now) great for amps headunits and anything else u dont want undone in a hurry

Nothing worse than buying a car to find that the previous owner had butchered the screws because they couldn't be bothered going to super crap and buying a $15-$20 set of torx bits (also known as a security bit set if you go to d**k Smith, Tandy, Jaycar etc) As everybody has already said they are everywhere. Buy the right tool, do the job right right first time. my 2 cents
