You need to purchase the correct tool. Jaycar should sell them. I believe they are called a torx bit.

When I worked in the industry.. I could never find my bit so I alwaus just used my pair of fine snips to turn the screws.. never failed for me..

snap-on sell the bit also.

Well, you could cut a slot in the top and use a flat blade screw driver, but is a REAL HASSELL!!!

Or you could grind/cut the top off with a grinder or a dremel. Lots of fun!!

You will need to contact Ford with the VIN and they should be able to look it up for you. The code is unique to the car. Best opiton is to go and buy an el cheapo CD player.

Its just a hex bit with a hollow end... (because the screw head has a pin in the middle.)

Nothing worse than buying a car to find that the previous owner had butchered the screws because they couldn't be bothered going to super crap and buying a $15-$20 set of torx bits icon_evil.gif (also known as a security bit set if you go to d**k Smith, Tandy, Jaycar etc) As everybody has already said they are everywhere. Buy the right tool, do the job right right first time. my 2 cents icon_biggrin.gif
Mick
PS. I can post up a pic of what they look like if that helps icon_razz.gif
