Ok
That time is a little slow for the mph though.
Maybe half a second too slow. Although that may be a turbo thing. |

Would need to ask him though ... he is on here now ... boostlover is his username.
I think keeping the car in a straight-line off launch ... and keeping traction is a tad hard ... for a light car .. might have babied the start as well .... as last time he raced he blew his transfer case to bits as well. |

yeah simon you are right, i did baby it off the line.
the following factors i have to take into consideration.
the tyres are still standard falken street tyres
the drive train cant cope with the abuse until a bit of funds are poured into it, and the best 60 foot i have done to date is 1.58. so in order to make the drivetrain last, i have to baby the 60 footers.
Epitome, without knowing your setup, im sure you are running an auto, where as i am running a manual transmission. if an auto were to be adapted, 9's are an easy task, with the use of the standard tyres still... |

1. EF XR8, 4 spd auto, 3.7 diff, Vortech V2 blower, standard motor bar 75mm throttle body, cobra manifold.
2. Car around 1600kg, me about 150 kg's
3. around 300 rwhp
4. Driving skill around 7/10, could use a bit more with the shifting. Take offs were touch and go with traction.
5. Perth Motorplex, cold clear night, air temp in the high teens and getting colder.
6. Bf goodrich 235 40 r17
7. 13.9 @ 96 mph.
8. 2.1 60ft.
I reckon i could get a couple of tenths in it, drag season is over in the west. Had probs with car not shifting at 5500rpm, all sorted now, a few more tenths in it, a 13.7 i would think. |

Yeah it is. The drive line is a 466 cube Big Block Ford, Allfast 5200rpm converter, Full manual trans braked C6 by Top Quality Transmissions and a Sommers Bros 9".
We're running high 8's and its making a lazy 600hp. It has more in it yet. Once we strengthen up the bottom end some more, we'll be able to rev past the self imposed 7500rpm limit. The cam is good for 8000rpm. Then we should see 700-750hp and mid 8's. |

1.Ford EL Fairmont, NA I6 with Tickford engine, aftermarket cam, full exhaust and custom intake. 3.23 LSD diff and T5 manual transmission.
2. 1600kg give or take for the car and 60kg for me (yes I'm a skinny fella weighing f**k all )
3. 144rwkw
4. maybe 6 or 7 out of 10...I suck at launching and shifting.
5. Heathcote drag strip. close to 30, if not over. Tad humid.
6. 235/45/17 tyres, with 3.23 diff gears
7. 16.05s, speed of 90.76mph
8. don't remember, but it would have been above 2s
Slow time due to blowing my heater hose and dumping fluid all over the track and then half throttle 3/4 down the strip slowing down.

Well I went to Calder Park on the weekend on its opening after got revamped.
The start line wasn't the stickiest and my tyres aren't either! With the 2500rpm stall converter I couldn't get off the line with boost, my wheels would just spin, hence my poor 60ft'er, its time for some M/T et street radials me thinks!!
60ft - 2.316
330ft - 5.792
660ft - 8.547@89.03mph
1000ft - 10.913
ET - 12.925@113.03mph |
