Hi

I have an AU Series I Fairlane Ghia (1999).

The power antenna is stuck in the fully extended position. I can hear the power antenna motor working when I turn the car off, or when I hit the up/down button, but it remains fully extended.

Are these things fixable, or should I simply be replacing it? If I should be replacing it, can anybody tell me if there is a reproduction part available and the approximate price?

Thanks in advance!

generic replacement is available from your favorite/closest auto accessory store should fit.
more than likely the rope has snapped or a few teeth stripped off it. happens all the time with age and use.

Thanks mate, are they easy to replace? Any tips or tech sheets?

probably will have to take it appart to clean the mechanism and take parts of the old mast out bit fiddly but by no means hard. i'm not familiar with the ford mechanism, but i've replaced the one on my bluebird. was a bit of mucking around but not too difficult. if you run into any snags, post back.
