the stereo in my car is a stock unit from fora and there's a problem with the head. the FR speaker keeps coming on and off. when i tap or push on the face just under the screen thingy it comes back but cuts out shortly after
WTF!!! |

| Sounds like the plug in the back of it is loose, and dropping connection. |

| nah, i pulled the unit out and had a fiddle but it's something else inside the unit. speakers and connections are fine |

your best bet might be to get a replacement from a wrecker.
or fit an aftermarket unit
sounds like there is an internal short, virtually impossible to diagnose and fix easily.
if you paid someone to do it, youd be better off replacing. |

| if your any good with a soldering iron its easily fixed. what happens is you get dry/broken joints on the audio output chip, its cause of the expansion and contraction as the chip heats and cools. the chip is located along the back or sides of the head unit as its mounted to a heat sinc (aluminium). if you remove the botton cover you should be able to access it from there. make sure no joints are touching each other after soldering. |

| can get heaps of chep cd players from $150 up for name brands so next tim it does it stick a screwdriver in it real hard (you will feel great) and just buy a new one |
