| well i know you can do it but if you put speakers in the rear doors instead of the parcal shelf will it sound like something is lacking as the sound is not coming from behind to give a rear fill |

what car do you have? i'd say you'd have to do a custom instal and fill out the rear door skins - from memory, there would be insufficient space, as dont they concave inwards? i think they do on mine anyways... but i had thought of it - perhaps get some spare skins, and have a play around with them? i'd imagine it would take a bit of work to build them out enough, and be strong enough as well... might work well for wagons though!  |

it can sound good if you take your time make sure to use good quality sound deadinging and components ,, make sur not break any clips as rattles sound terrible 
if your driving it should sound fine if you have a good front stage and if your sittin in the back it will sound az if your sitting in the front  |

The boot space usually acts like a reflex port for parcel mounted speakers which is of course good for bass. Moving them to rear doors means you need to choose your speakers carefully to get the same response. |

| yeah i know about the space problems in the doors but i am thinking about fully redoing my interior and customising the door trims and stuff |

also i am getting a pioneer head unit off a friend and it has a system remote wire. is that just used to turn the amp on and off and where do i get a audio signal from?

The remote wire is what you connect to the amp and when you turn your head unit on and off the amps do the same.
The audio signal can either be taken from the rca on the back of the head unit, rcas are low level inputs. Or you can take the signal from the speaker wires and connect them to the high level inputs on the amp. it is important that you do not have both connected at the same time or you can do serious damage to the amp. i prefer rcas as they require less work cos with the high level inputs you have to start soldering and stuff and the rcas are simply just plug it in and go.
i was also thinking about making pods for my rear doors but i thought i will never sit in the back so who cares about the audio in the back. i just have them on the parcel shelf. however i did make pods for the front doors. i have an EA and if you don't know they have 4 inch speakers in the front and a great big hole where that map holder on later models went. so i thought i would make some pods for 6 inch speakers. i will post them later.

here is the door pod. it looks okay  when the door is open but is much better when the door is shut.

| It would be so much nicer to build the pod, take the vinyl off the doors, and then vacuum form it back over the whole thing to have integrated pods (even though that looks orrite mayyte). |
