if you wanna run it on vista, I would suggest running dosbox, then this through it. My wife loved Kings quest and stuff like that, she has been playing via dosbox for a while now.

Street Rod 1 and 2 were dynamite games back in their day, I loved them both dearly.

I remember SR1 did not support soundboards, and came with internal PC speaker sound effects only. When SR2 came out, it supported basic AdLib sound... I was like, WHOA!

SR2 I always found to be more frustrating than the original, mainly due to the crappy Mulholland Drive course which was nearly impossible to complete without having lightning reflexes.

Stunts was a great game too! It was just over 1Mb in size, yet you could make your own tracks and cruise around in heaps of sports cars, hours of fun. I remember the game also had this amusing bug where if you drive the Grand Prix car and lock it into max speed, you could get the car kilometres into the air for no apparent reason!

God bless the 90s for computing game bliss...

the only way i can get my car to go in drag races is to click both mouse buttons, and push forward on the mouse... and 5 times outa 10 this takes me back to the garage???

how to change gears also, cost me 50 bucks not knowing...

and if i choose adlib sound, it doesnt work, have to go normal and use the motherboard speaker...

I agree, while SR2 was better in some ways then the original because of being able to do more with the cars, I never once completed that damn Mulholland Drive course, which ruined the game for me - although back in the day I used to use a TSR program (can't remember the name now, it let you pause the game and search through memory for things like your cash, unpause the game, spend some cash, then search again and it would find where in RAM the game stored how much cash you had, then you could change it, brilliant!) to cheat so I could have as much money as I liked, so I'd just build a garage full of cool cars in SR2!

Stunts too was awesome, and back before those games, who could forget Test Drive? Far better on the Amiga then on the PC, I count those few games as really getting me interested in cars more then anything else.

Oh, and the key word when you're looking for old games is "abandonware", do a search with that plus the game name in google and you'll usually find what you're after icon_wink.gif

In a drag click the Space bar right before you take off, puts the car into gear...
to change gears also click space (not sure how to down gear)...
yeah normal sound is the only one that works..goes off ur motherboard( which it did back in the day)

Yup, or you could play the Amiga version again if you've got a copy of Amiga forever, or the amiga rom as a file and WinUAE icon_smile.gif

Oh, and I remembered that game cheat I used to use to get lots of money, it was called GameWizard, anyone else remember that?

I remember the SR2 cash bug.

You go to sell your car and offer the exact amount you paid for it twice then offer 22000 and people will take it. I built a fair few awesome cars doing that.
