2 options.

drop the kframe (what i intend to do *TODAY*)
or lift the engine out a bit to give it clearance.

i'll go the kframe icon_razz.gif

lift the engine up (engine mounts undone), you have to lift the engine a fair way up and even then it wont come out without removal of radiator, front bumper, move/slide/angle the a/c condensor etc out of the way, and then the sump will just come come out.

so remove engine complete with gearbox (its easier that way really) and then you can do gearbox seals and rear main seal on the engine as well), or drop the k-frame and just do the sump.

hmm thinkin thats the best way, (my mates ef has leaky sump gasket.) so k frames a f**k easier to do than engine removal? are their any mounts on the k frame (would you need to jack up engine to allow frame to be removed?)

its to my understanding that the K frame also supports the front lower control arms and the engine mounts, so if you remove it whats going to hold your engine up and you will need to realign your front end when you refit it

Yes im sue the mount are ont the K frame and i think the rack is too. It would be similar to a VN SS i think u could use those frames that sit on the gards and hold the gear box up i supose u could ty and use it to support the engine
