The 2nd ELGT ECU Jeff sourced came out of an XH 347 Ute which we built, it was running 24lb injectors and used the T-series MAF (IIRC) It ran fine in the ute but when he pulled it out and refitted the standard ECU without changing the MAF (couldn't find his old one) it wouldn't idle correctly...
Damn efi where's a carby? Lol |

Yeah maybe I should go carby. HAHAHAHA.
In fact I don't have the money. Hence my for sale thread. Need cash to pay bills. |

| Have you thought about throwing an AU maf in there? |

AU maf has a different connector I think.
My build has come to an end anyway due to lack of funds. Kids come first. |

Quick update for your all. I managed to get the Tickford 70mm TB fitted.
I got an AU TPS and chopped the end off it and put the E series plug on it. Got it set to 1.035v at idle.
Man what a difference. Car doesn't hesitate for a second. It just launches itself now. Maybe in the future I'll get the MAF done and the injectors which will mean a tune but that won't be for a couple of years when I can afford such expense.

Looks good Timmeh. They are a real nice looking T/B.
You need to get that TPS voltage under 1.00v @ idle though.
I'd also run that plug/wiring around the back too as its blocking the Tickford wings.

Don't know if the wire reaches that far.
I know .98 volts is the sweet spot. I got room for adjustment though. |

Yeah thats correct but it must be under 1.00v @ idle so the EEC knows its at idle. If it goes to 1.00v or more it thinks its at part throttle and goes into closed loop.
0.98v is the optimum voltage as its as close to 1.00v while still being under and safe. |

Yeah. I'll get onto it tomorrow. My mate has the multimeter. I was just going through the sticky in the V8 forum about it. Thanks Jeff. |

The wife drove the XR8 to work yesterday and now she doesn't want to drive it cause its too powerful.
All I did was get the 70mm Tickford TB put on. Surely it couldn't of made that much difference.
Before she loved the car and the power was perfect. But yesterday she scared herself a little and was saying that you only have to just touch the throttle and it goes hard.
I've still to get the TPS to read under 1v. Its still at 1.035v at idle.
Maybe its time I scrounge for some cash and get it on the rollers and post up the sheet. |

Hehe, nice work Pete. You can imagine how my missus feels when she's behind the wheel of my ute, .
I dont think the 70mm T/B would have made that much difference but it certainly would have helped.
Yep definately get it on the dyno. Im guessing 230-240rwhp at around 5300rpm. |

Everyone is guessing 30 or 40 more HP than me. I'm not expecting much as I don't want to be disappointed.
Only time I put a car on the dyno was my bog stock EL Fairmont Ghia V8 and it pulled a massive 128rwhp.
So I'm scared of the figures so I guess low. If I got 230rwhp I would be jumping for joy. |

I think you'll find that must have been 128rwkw not hp, 128rwhp is rediculous lol. Well i hope it was rwkw anyway |

Nah it was definately 128rwhp or 98rwkw. I was the second worst performer. The only thing I beat was a worn out EA 6 cylinder auto.
Nah Scaffy I haven't booked it in yet.
I'll try and get it done after work this week if we get a slightly warmer day. I'm hoping for above 20 degrees so the air temp correction won't throw out the reading too much <----See I learn a lot from you guys. |

| Well, just for the record, my guesstimation is 220-230rwhp. Timmeh already knew that though |

I hope MCE are open Saturday mornings cause the Great (s**t) Northern Highway is under renovations again and I have to use it to get to work and my car will get stone chipped to the max so it'll have to be a weekend dyno run.
I'll be running the XR6 during the week. |
