trouble getting 2nd gear

when i am trying to grab second gear with the wheels spinning it refuses to go in. but when driving normally the change is smooth and silent. what could be the cause of this? any ideas?

here is what I think is happening.

1) Normal 1-2 Change at 5000 RPM:Wheel speed = 60km/hr: Revs need to go from 5000- to about 3600.

2) Wheel speed may go from 60km/hr to 30km/hr. Wheel Spin Change at 5000 RPM: Revs need to go from 5000- to about 2300.

In 2 there is twice as much difference between the speed of 1st gear cog and 2nd gear cog. This has to be overcome by the syncro's which are trying to get those cogs to spin at the same speed.

In your car they can't do it fast enough with wheelspin. Try pulling harder or shifting slower.

fast futura was having the same problems and I told him to get a new clutch cable and it fixed everything.
