if its an image file, than you will need to transfer the image file to DVD, programs like Nero or Norton Ghost can do this

I am running dual boot with XP on C, Vista on D.
I suggest you do the same, dont use vista as the only/main OS.

Then, all you need to do is in XP, install virtual drive software, mount the image and install...simple...no need to burn rto DVD or anything...

UDF (universal disc format) is common on re-writable discs, but then if you burnt it to a re-writable disc, your burning program would have installed the necessary software for windows to be able to use it....

Do you get this error when you try access the file in windows, or is it when your booting off the cd and trying to install it?
