Branko had mentioned he scored a turbo block with bent rods, so its either a frankenstein N/A block with turbo head or just a red rocker cover... either way its a first class job.

There's a big bloody turbo hanging off the side of it..

look mate i was THERE putting the damn engine in the car. It was an N/A engine same as mine (see earlier posts by me). The turbo is a GCG spec GT35r external wastegate etc. Just because it has a red rocker cover doesn't mean its an XR6t engine! However, as stated, he did have a damaged one which he planned to build up later.

None of this detracts from the fact that its a pretty exclusive club of DOERS versus DREAMERS when it comes to this conversion.

Yeah, non turbo motor for the time being, we have a turbo engine that is going to be built.

Turbo is a GT35 with a 66mm comp wheel...and an .86 rear housing.

i think the .86 rear housing is too small, you will find an incredibly early spoolup, but it will be choked.. .86 is good for an rb25, use the 1.06 on the 4l, i hope your wastegate bleeds well

yes , it is too small as the turbo was meant for another application but when its all up and running it will get changed to a bigger one

Yep, turbo will be going back on my escort and this will more then likely get a GT42 / GT45.

I was just looking at the EMS web site and it says the both the 8860 and the stinger both do variable valve timing control, thats the same as VCT isn't it?
