| My ELXR8 Auto seems to make a whining noise at the top end of fist and second gear just before the change. Its bloody annoying. Anyone know what this might be? Any input appreciated. |

| Sounds like maybe the belts or something? Not a transmission problem I dont think - I had it looked at and transmission guy said that the transmission was fine... |

May be idler pulleys, i know mine make a hell of a racket.
Take the serp belt of and check the top idler, bottom left idler and pulley on belt tensioner for wear/play. Ideally they should be smooth as silk but not likely... lol, i recently blew the pulley on the tensioner apart due to bearing failure. |
