| count me in for 1. does it come with the full hardware? like usb cable, program for a laptop, or is it just a matter of saying what you have done to the engine and they set it up for you?

| I am yet to read the list of features and controls, but does this ecu have the goods to run a dohc ba/bf engine?? At this price it would certainly make the conversion a lot more viable.

Hi
Just been on the telephone with wolf engine management systems.
The transmission and engine controlled by a wolf v500 will not be released . It has been postponed due to the large amount of rime consumed in trying to get it to control the BTr4 electronic transmission properly
But the EF and EL Wolf V5 ECU's are up and running just controlling the engine side of things.
The system comes with a full instructions and a base map so plug'n'play is ready for delivery.
The guys that are hoping for transmission control don't hold your breathe it will not happen for a very long time , and this is from the CEO of wolf doesn't matter what others say.
The factory ford ecu has to be retained if the car is automatic , so it is a side by side fit or as know by many piggyback setup where the factory EEC5 controls the transmission and the wolf controls the ignition and fuel side of things.
cheers

So just to confirm is it still plug and play or not?
I'm cool with the factory ECU controlling the auto still, but just wanna know if the v500 will be a plug-in or not.

The biggest obstacle is the flyby wire throttle body. if your prepared to change it to a cable EF/EL throttle body which should be the same bolt pattern if my memory serves me right
It has enough drivers to control the 6 individual coils and camshaft solenoid
cheers

Ok
just would like to get at least (6) people in a one of buy.
Will see what I can do for best possible price.
Since 10 people seems to be out of the question.
So need a show of hands for people ready to buy this week and have their funds ready.
Just list you name down

I know i cant plug and play in my EL auto, say if i was to wire it in, is it hard to do? im very good with electronics and can follow diagrams easily, does it come with a colour coded wiring diagram or would some body be able to tell me where i have to solder wires and cut wires etc.
What will the final price be on this?
Will i need to modify the distributor or anything else?
Do i need to add any sensors?
Do i need to run wiring to the injectors?
Very interested in this, more worried about how hard it is to install as i want to do it myself.

Depends on how you set it up AFAIK...leading edge v trailing edge / reading short tooth of the distributor.
To give you some kind of idea - I'm running mine full sequential with no TFI module (a couple loop backs to keep ECU happy).

Should be ok with injectors...V500 can take high and low impedance.
Good luck with it - there are plenty here who have good knowledge of the ignition side of things. Fuel side is pretty straight forward - reg, injectors and pump. Word of advice with fuel pump - ensure you have upgraded wiring to it

Under load, a larger fuel pump draws a s**t more current than a standard one.

Hi again Luke,
I have only used Bosch 984 and now a Denso intank which have both been bigger than the standard one...I have noticed there is a difference and know of others that have upgraded wiring - horses for courses - if you dont' feel you need to, then that's all good

this is a discount for a group purchase that I have listed.
A quotation for a group buy of 10 in one hit.
For this to happen I need the numbers guy
cheers
NB : eight injector drivers , can run sequential injections
eight ignition drivers , can run sequential ignition , waste spark |
Hey Ivan,
How is this going? Did you end up getting enough numbers?

Ok Steve , nothing went as planned , group buy didn't meet the required amount to make it worth while , plenty of interest but when it come down to the crunch people didn't have their money ready
Guys just price around from the allocated dealers and see what you can get the programmable Wolf ECU's for and just drop me a PM and i will see what price I can negotiate for you.
cheers
