| Hey all, i ended up buying the logitech's x530's and they sound awesome on the computer. Just wandering if anyone know's how to set them up on my dvd player as well. should i run the dvd sound out to the soundcard in? or can i use some kind of multi input switch for the cables. problem with this is that the speakers have only 3 cables that plug into the soundcard and they arn't RCA's. Also do DVD player's have amps in them cause these speakers are powered. Sorry for all the questions but I want my room to sound 1337. |

Does your sound card have a line or audio out port ?
If your sound card has a line out and dvd player a line in or free set of audio ins then you can connect them that way with a single straight through line in cable or a line in split to left and right channel RCAs.
Take it the 3 speaker cables on the x530 are black = rear, orange = centre/subwoofer and green = front ?
To run this off your DVD player is no problem. But the line in way from your sound car means your pc would need to be running to hear the dvd being played in the player....
Does the x530 have like a control device not a remote or do all the speaker etc cables come out of the sub ? |

| yeh, the wires are as you described. My sound card has a total of 6 ports so 3 spare ports after the x530's are hooked up which can be used as in or out, (it automatically detects). Having the computer on during a movie wouldn't bother me and I have spare 5.1 audio ports on my dvd player. So if i were going to do it this way, should i simply connect 3 sound channels from my dvd player to my soundcard and will it really work? |
