| Is there any advantage in fitting the XR6 fuel regulator to my Fairmont. Just upgrading to AU injectors larger throttle body and port matching the intake, already have ported head, extractors, Eliminator chip and 2.5" exhaust. I will get another tune after every thing is fitted just want to know if the regulator will help. |

I fitted the XR6 300kpa fuel pressure reg to my EL engine which is using the XR ECU and i noticed a subtle improvement accross the rev range. Feels more meaty now.
If you can get one, well done, as they are now obsolete from Ford.

These cars already run rich as f**k from the factory, ive heard alot of XR6 owners swapping out their 300kpa regulator for a stock one and have gained more improvement by making them run a bit leaner.
The only way i can see it being any benefit if its leaning out too much and measured on a dyno, maybe then you need to look at more fueling |

| I will be getting a tune done straight after fitting the regulator so the over fueling problem will be sorted out then. Will having a higher pressure reg help the injectors work better by giving better fuel atomization creating a more efficient burn equalling more power. |

| What is going to be "tuned"? The computer dynamically controls the tuning according to inputs from sensors. |

Where does that plug in? Is that something you connect to a laptop? How much? What technique do you use to set the tune? |

I assume the "eliminator" chip is the same as Chiptorque, where it plugs into the bottom of the ecu in the J3 port.
Theres a connection on the chip so it can be plugged into their software at the same time and be tuned on a dyno....ie: fuel maps, timing, idle settings
They go for roughly 600 new, plus dyno time which can be up to 200 an hour and usually takes a couple hours..... or so they say  |

| Yep my chip and tune cost around a thousand, best money spent so far and I've spent a little bit, It gained me .7 of a second down the quater. But I still need some info on the regulator. |
