Been driving my ute round for a couple of days with afor mentioned bits, I could here a noise as i get off the throttle just before my BOV goes, i've been lookin this up and have found it to be called "DOSE". I would have thought that I would not get this noise with the BOV in place? any ideas?

The standard BOV probably doesnt flow enought air for your tune, so the air just goes back through the turbo. Mind you some people get ride of there BOV's as the sound of a DOSE is f**k AWSOME icon_lol.gif

ahh yeah, theres a thought, by adjusting the BOV harder or softer, will this allow a greater airflow? what are the effects of toying with the settings of the BOV?

watch this. i'm not sure what actually causes it, from what i've picked up its just excess air the BOV isnt able to get rid of in time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWcQs5LH9E0

wait for it to spool up and yeah, you get the idea.

the dose is caused by not having a BOV at all...

as in even taking off the standard one? so i've been thinking. if i soften my bov, that'll allow air to escape easier once its off boost and thus elimnating the DOSE sound and if i harden the BOV then i'll end up with more DOSE before the BOV has a chance to open. am i right?

if u have a turbosmart BOV is shouldnt dose, it should just go pttsscchhh!
i i had a play around with a turbosmart veeport on the weekend, and the soft setting was a slow release psssssssshhhhhhhhh where as the hard setting was a sharp pptttschhh!! if that makes sense, it didnt dose at all...

u can remove your standard BOV and plug the 2 holes from the crossover pipe, it will dose, but not as loud as that car, as that car has a full intercooler and plenum setup, afaik a pod will help with the loudness of the dose, or a cai and panel filter.
do u have standard cooler and pipework on your car?

yes mate u can remove the bov totally and there will be no problems.

with the bov removed it wil repeat the tu tututututututu and sound fully sick uleh.

nizpro have proven that a bov is not needed.

however there is mush debate on the topic.

i use a gfb mach1 plumbed back for legality and with 15 psi i get good dose and heaps of spool noise.

as a nother member said u need an actuator, but without a ported wastegate and bigger flapper valve you will have problems getting a solid boost level if u have a cat and zorst fitted as the zorst flow will follow the easiest path of resistance and if u have a good zorst its easyer for the flow to go by the turbine rather than the wastegate because the stock zorst has backpreassure so its easyer to exit by the wastegate.
but if u remove the backpressure and command the same boost level u will get overboost, the stock cat will hold u back to 12 psi high in the rev range.

if u mod the wastegate u can get 15 psi solid all the way to the redline.

that will give u over 300rwkw safely without spiking and blowing your motor....

I just have a herrod cooler but still stock pipping and it has a k&n panel filter already in the stock box.

I am looking into moving the battery and having some pipping go straight from the turbo to a pod behind the right head lights. Is this tricky?? I mean with the rest of the pipe work and what not and what kinda pressure lines or other lines need to be hooked up if any???

The guy that owns that is from this forum right????

Can he post up info/pics of his car plase???

Cheers guys
Dylan

PS BFHOON what 1/4mile times have u run???

im only running low 13s at the moment but with the addition of these semi slicks i have now im guessing it will drop. every time u hit boost it spins on stock tyres.

iv also not yet had a chance to hit the strip with my new clutch as the 13 was run with a slipping clutch.

if i had have got an auto i would be in the 11s <kicking myself>
