I think the input shafts are different lengths. Not sure on that.

Yeah I'd second that, the input shaft's are different lengths, also different gear ratios between 6 & v8 boxes.

ok i was thinking the input shaft were diffrent and also i was iffy about ratio's and extention housing

No worries. I didn't know til I asked either (1st link), but it seems to come up every few months now. I think the 5th one was probably the best though, re: gearbox factory.
