Me and dad have been talking about what to do with my NF when i get a full license and we both agree a V8 is in need and dad being a old motor builder says he can make a 302W go 500HP naturally aspirated with most of the power being down low and medium but im just wondering what sorta gearbox and diff you guys would recommend for such power ?

and i prob wont be able to help my self but to drive it like ive stole it once its got the V8 noise lol

dad has a heavily tricked out C3 in the shed that could change gears so fast you snap your neck it came in the XC cobra when we bought it as the cobra motor (not using original block so dont worrie) was built by some drag car motor builder(it came like that when we bought it) and we dont know how much power the cobra motor has as it picks up and goes to fast before dad can get a rough idea what sorta power it pushing but he says its well above 400HP easy

But my car would be heading up towards those numbers and it is running a top loader and 9 inch.

that is why we are planning it 2 yrs ahead of when i get my full license plenty of time to save up and get all the equipment ready

While 500hp is easily achievable, its not something you should expect in 302 guise... nor will it be in the low to mid rev range.

Anywho, a nine inch and tko or t56 is something you should be looking into.

Your a joke. You want 500hp out a injected 302w? lol.
But
Go look at what every other car with 500hp is running. Not that difficult huh?

A set of heads, a 347 stroker kit and/or a turbo kit the dollar is strong so you should be able to get everything from the US. Yes it is expensive but its a shotload cheaper than trying to squeeze out a v8 supercar style 500hp n/a :p

im not the motor builder just saying dad said he could

i would prefer a super charger to a turbo i prefer the whine of the super charger to the hiss of a turbo
and ive seen NA 302w crate motors claiming 400HP

Tell him to do it then. I think we all know it wont happen though.

You really, really need to some kind of research.

or this

might give you an idea of how hard 500hp with a 302 NA actually is?

He did say he did want to stroke it to 347 to get this rate but he seems to be almost on the money a slight bit ambitious but 302 stroked to 347 crate does come at 450HP so pretty close if u ask me

1.66hp per cube is achieveable but with a solid roller reving to 8000rpm with large heads and not the average engine builder......................

Even if its a 347 you wont get 500hp and a torquey bottom end-mid range.

I see the Pavtek engine is worth just over 12 & 1/2 grand.....twice the value of an NF Fairlane.
Somehow, at 515 hp, i don't think it will be......uummmm...street friendly.
And to have a carby on a car that left the factory with EFI.....ain't legal.
