just wondering if anyone can help
i want to know the price of a ford 6 speed manual gearbox and where i can get them?

any help would be good

the t56 speed out of the ba?

it would be a worth around 5k or more i think ?


mal wood does conversion kits for falcons to a 6 speed ask XR8 Chick as she has 1 in here car

Yeah Mal Wood does the T56 for $5k.
Thats a reco box, and i was quoted $6,4k for a brand spanker.
2k for a clutch.

That's a lot of money for an extra ratio.

From a dollar vs performance aspect, is it really worth the cash?

hmmm very expensive hobby this is...
its either the t56 or a v160/v161 from a supra..
i would deffinatly like a 6 speed im going from auto to manual so i mite as well go all out.
at this stage looks like the supra box will be a bit cheaper

cant use the BA 6 speed..... not without figuring out how to get a speedo signal!

It is a lot of money for an extra ratio, but its a helluva lot stronger than a T5. Plus it allows you to run 4.11 diff gears and still sit on less revs on the highway than with a 3.23.
You would only bother with a box like this if you are after something to hold a lot of power and not snap.

if malwood auto do the conversion youd think they know how to fix the speedo working problem... at least youd hope
is the sensor totally differnt on the new box?

well i am researching this because i want to do it to my nc fairlane which i willl eventually do work to the motor so a strong driveline would be good before i do work to the motor so i dont brake anything and have to fix it

im sure the gearbox has the spedo sender hole blanked over?

if not use an extension housing from a commonwhore box
