Hey,

i want to put a tremec t56 or a 5 speed or 6 speed auto into my EF fairmont ghia. can you guys give me some suggestions for the autos and a rough price for the t56.

hey mate.. i been looking for a T56 sor my ba xr6t.. they telling me new around about 5-6 grand for the box.. plus u will need a new drive shaft and a diff ratio change (if its goin in a ef) thats about all the info i got for ya mate..

you're gonna have to change heaps won't you... as the speedo will be alll f**k up and such.
either way, you can convert a supra 6 speed box to fit into the falcon, probably cheaper.

yeah well a supra turbo 6 speed is only around 2500-3000. and from what that guy said the t56 will be around twice this.

does anyone know if you can put the auto 6 from a xr6t into the ef???

Whats involved with the supra 6 speed conversion and is it really worth it over a T5 **going turbo in the future if that helps**.

does anyone know where ic ould source one from btw??

i think malcolm wood does these conversions?
it will be a lot stronger than the 5 speed, no question.

yeah i know.. the t5 is s**t.. and saiken nah i got the T5 5 speed box.. not the t56 6 speed :(:(:(

sorry dude i don't know much about the gearboxes, but i would assume the altezza and supra to have similar gearboxes.
there is someone on here, xr8chic i think, that has a 6 speed in her xr8... send her a pm and she might be able to give you some advice.
