What a shame to go to all that work and have a nice looking car and end up taking it apart. I can understand them costing $3500. Chances are whoever gets them will be getting a steal.

I would love to have them so i could set my car anywhere from slightly lowered up to a significantly raised height.

They would be great for towing too, and carrying up to five adults for street cruising.

They would be floaty if the rate was low, or harsh if the rate was too high, just like coil springs. Knowing the height is adjustable, people that are just after looks, and especially american's who like things soft, are tempted to go for a low spring rate, so you would want to watch for that.

They are often progressive rate and than can be a good thing. They transmit less vibration than coils and so are nicer in that way.

I have searched the internet a few times and have never found much information about the airbags offered, not even rate. It wouldn't surprise me if people get them badly wrong because of this. Lack of sufficient information and understanding.

wonder whats going on
1 car but 2 kits sold?
so he spent $7000 on kits but sold em for $3025 (1 for $1525 and the other for $1500)

wonder why they couldnt sell the car it seems nice enough and i know some ford nuts would have bought it just for the bags allready attatched

seem dodgey to anyone? (exactly same youtube vid used for both items, same discription same photo's)

apart from that its a nice looking car and for the right price i would have been interested
i had a subaru liberty at one of my more weaker moments in life that started to develope problems with the airbag suspension got a quote to fix it $2500 each , it was so rediculous that i went to the local wreakers and sold it for 500 bucks and promptly went and got myself a pushbike

Wouldn't the front wheel alignment change all over the place as the car goes up and down??

People tend to just buy new struts and coils, it's a simple bolt in conversion using struts for non-airbag models.

I find the e-series to be very minimal with respect to bump steer and camber change during the normal range of movement. The camber will however increase significantly towards full bump, and bump steer may also come into the picture, especially if the airbag car can go real low. The extra camber might be acceptable if not appropriate, but bump steer never is. But you shouldn't drive it with less than 4" ground clearance, not fast anyway, so there shouldn't really be a problem.

i think i remember reading somewhere airbags provide a harsher ride as the shocks cannot move as quickly as conventional ones, something to do with the gas flow or compression or something. Can't remember exactly as it was yonks ago. :?

Airbags are usually independent of the shocks, indeed, airbags use air, and shocks use oil. Airbags usually give a better ride due to having less internal friction, transmitting less vibration, and sometimes due to having a progressive rate.

In the same way as coils have less internal friction than leaf springs, airbags have less internal friction than coils.
