About to put on King Superlows. Just wondering whether anyone is running ELGT rims on an EL with them? Did you have to get the guards rolled?

Crap that's not what I wanted to hear. So if I get the car lowered in Adelaide (300kms away) am I going to be able to turn on the way home? And who would I take it to to get it done? Just so I understand it, rolling the guards means to bend up the inside edge of the guard so that the horizontal piece that sticks in towards the car is bent up correct?

with superlows u will only need to roll the front gards. u may be able to get away with it, if u use 245/40 R17 and not 255/40 R17.

get them rolled man. there was a thread ages ago bout a bloke that tried to get away without rolling them and he ended up tearing his front guard off when the tyre hooked on it. if people try charging u more than $300 there is a guard rolling tool on ebay for bout $300

it is a good idea - saves a lot of money by spending a little bit - you would p****d if your original el gt's get damaged by not getting your guards rolled!! it wil cost more than 300 to fix em then!

i have 17's, got superlows and the tire grabbed the guard first time i pulled into the driveway.. bent the lip out and tore chuncks out of my tire. now i need a new tire and spray job.... save yourself the hassle and headaches and roll your guards!!

Yep roll them, I have superlows on my EB with EL GT rims, was on a rough road and took a chunk out of my tyre, all I did was take the guards off and carefully use some pliers and a hammer with wood, you'll know what you have to do when you get them off, just be careful as you can actually break the metal i did but only 1cm split you can't see it anyway.

Good luck but I wouldn't take the risk in not doing something.
