when breaking i get this kinda grinding noise, generally at low speed, or rolling down a hill at say 10km/h resting foot on the break or breaking slowly though a corner, and sometimes it continues just after i finish breaking and take my foot off..

pretty sure its coming from the front, and both rotors have these 'lips' on the outside.

the rotors are about 25,000km old i belive, was told they were replaced by ford at 100,000km service.

time to order some slotteds?

heres a few pics.. excuse the camera phone

the lip is common

what are the pads like? u checked the rears????

u may need a skim of the rotors and the caliper slides may need lube

my bro said they changed them all at 100,000k's.. so 25000k's ago.

its a very audiable noise can hear the grinding/rubbing from the cabin very easily when it happens

if you look at the second photo you can see the lip is not clean but is being ground by something.
i think the pads are worn the lip is quite pronounced and is rubbing against the metal part of the pad.
disks need machining and new pads pronto.

it is quite a lip, enough for you to clearly notice running your finger over it.

awaiting a reply from hitek brakes for a total price on some rotors/pads and shipping :)

if your saying the noise stays after you take your foot off, im thinking it could be your wheel bearings? my right hand side bearings are screwed and it makes a weird noise, only noticible at real low speeds or high speeds. just a thought.

well, results are in..

and i was right ;)

the rotor is completly shagged! looks like im ordering some from hitek brakes now.

while fixing my nice split coolant hose i noticed the problem.

http://members.ii.net/~fayduda/car/f**k.JPG

notice the different looking texture on the centre of the rotor? the outside is smooth, the inside is like sandpaper, would probably cut your finger quite nice.

seeing as im gonna buy slotted rotors that should be here by next week ill see how much more i can shag it up

***edit***

just after opinions, i have been driving with this noise for a few days, any harm is driving for a few more days till hitek can send new rotors and pads over?

i will probably need to do about 250km over the next 5 days.
