yes as done mine on el wagon and AU BTR are better box also better solenoid coil and remove dip stick and tube from el box and remove AU sump cover and oil and drill hole on dip stick blank cover and tap a thread same as el box and fitted EL dip stick on AU box. Ford mobs have delete dip stick since AU falcon arrive also got homemade shift drift and last is fitting large oil cooler (From Air condinter) and done 2 years ago or 150000km oil colour still in red as new
Happy now :D :D :D

EL's never had a dipstick for the auto's, neither did EFII's.....Feb/Mar 96 was the deleting of the auto dipstick.....was also the start of using R1-424 Power steering fluid too.

so if what your saying is true, can you make it fit with minimal hassle?

The AU box has the linkage on the same side as the earlier E-series (RH side). It is the BA - onwards transmission that has it on the opposite side.

i have an au gear box here and linkage is on the left hand side. it might be that the early series are on the same side as e-series and that series 2 and 3 au are on the left. Damn learn something new everyday...lol
