Hi Guys,
Just a quick silly question. I just wanted to know if the wheels between the EL and AU can be interchange without any modifications? I just need to know as I am getting my car roadworthy tested and it has been knocked back due to 18inch wheels. So I am looking at putting on my mates Au wheels for the inspection. thanks in advance |

they will fit the stud pattern, but the offset is wrong and do not sit out far enough. They do not have the clearance over the rotors/calipers.
Spacers is the illegal option to make them fit.

why did the car fail the roadworthy because of 18" wheels?
unless hes being REALLY fussy and questioning ADR approval of the wheels or any obvious offset/width issues, he cant fail them for the size as long as rolling diameter is correct |

So if you have an EL you should be OK. And he can fail them due to size. if you are within the 2" increase on original option wheels they must also be within the rolling dia allowance. |

hmm i thought this topic has been brought up a few times. In QLD its rolling diameter and im nearly sure other states were the same
have you got a link to light vehicle modification laws in VIC/NSW? |

Edit, on EF if you have a Tickford optioned vehicle, XR6/8 Series II or Series II Fairmont Ghia you can go 18" as they were optioned with 16" Tickford Wheels. |

Hell I am confused now. The wheels on the car are not overly big. Just your standard size 18s.
Whats my best option now? Leave em on again and try fight it, or just try find other wheels? |

But that said, could we all say that the 17" EL GT wheels were the maximum size from stock, therefore allowing 19"?
