I work at an auto gearbox and diff shop on the sunny coast, I can rebuild your box a LOT cheaper than that, even a change over one will be a lot cheaper....

PM me if your interest ..

Also, from the first post about it taking a while to hit reverse, sounds like it could be low on oil, are you running a trans cooler?? or just though the standard fittings though the radiator???

There is a breather hole at the top of the extension housing on the gearbox, if your cooler or radiator is blocked (seen it heaps) drops of oil drip out of it, you don't notice it cos its only a drop at a time, but after a while you will lose enough oil (maybe over 6000kms) to make it take a while to go into reverse!!

My red NL thats an auto (silver one is manual) is doing that leak out the breather pipe.

check it out...

Yeah I thought it might be that because my EB does that because it has an oil leak but we don't really bother with it because t's just a paddock basher (for now.) So yeah we will check that thankyou...

We need some help again...
My dad just reckons it needs an oil top up but he said he's looked under the bonnet but can't find a dipstick or anything.....
So we're kinda wondering how to actually change the oil on our falcon. If it makes any difference it's a 2000 AU Falcon Forte
Can anyone help??
Thanks

Au falcons never came with a dip stick to top up the trans auto

Look under the car on the drivers side of the gear box, theres a bolt you undo, trans oil will come out, and to top it up grab some clear plastic hose and a funnel, stick one end in the bolt hole and feed the pipe to the out side of the car and stick the funnel in and begin to pour the fluid in untill it starts to leak out the hole
