ok so ive heard theres some issues with ba auto gear boxes overheating and stuff. is this true or just hear say? is it worth while running a cooler in series with the radiator, or get a stand alone cooler? and if stand alone, how do i block off the fluid lines in the radiator?

you absolutely cant go wrong adding a large aftermarket transmission cooler.. great way of making your gearbox last longer..

Problems with BA boxes are the pump design changed from AU to a thinner pump design, the pumps are failing, the other is the gears are finer in the non Turbo versions but the are not as hard to reduce noise, these are also failing. Neither of these would be fixed by a cooler but a larger cooler is always going to help the longevity.

The early BA 6 cylinder auto's are all the same as they are the BTR 93LE the v8's have the BTR97LE.
It's the transmission cooler inside the radiator that splits and fooks them.
I have a stock auto in my Supercharged BA that has the stock system,i will go an aftermarket T cooler before spring though.
Have been inside it a few times chasing the shift setup and the filter and oil are allways in good nick,though it does get serviced at the recommended intervals may be why.
