ill be putting the turbo in this week.
what should i get done to the auto to handle the extra power.
I have a big brand new oil cooler to go in, is this as simple as replacing the small one with my new big cooler. use the lines that are already there?

also i went to a transmission place yesterday, he seemed like a dumbass f**k and said my box is a piece of s**t, and said good luck and walked away from me like he wanted nothign to do with it.
I asked about a shift kit, he said you can only up the line pressure, is that what a mechanical shift kit is?

its already got the AU S5 solenoid in it as the original solenoid shat itself.

just really need to know if i can just replace the small oil cooler with my big one using the same lines, and do i have to bleed the air out of it and whats the best way to do that

what have other people done to there autos to handle 200rwkw
obviously i wont be driving it hard only the odd squirt here and there
ill be selecting the gear i want it to be in not just foot to the floor and let the auto decide and change into that gear while all that extra power is there.

thanks people

I've got an AUS5 and 2 Stock trans coolers on mine.
i've only ever had it dyno'd on 6psi and it was running 180rwkw.

its been this way for about 14 months and the trans is still fine.
trans has about 250,000km's on it.

yeh my box has 250,000 on it now.
just need to know how you installed the oil coolers, did you bleed the lines and what transmission oil you used, can you write up a small "how to" for me. also where did you mount your oil coolers, is it ok if i mount mine behind the intercooler.

i have 345rwk with the stock 4 speed btr... all thats done is a shift kit.....it dose a lot of track work as well.... if ur aim is 200rwk then just a shift kit and a tranny cooler....depending on how hard and how much u drive change the oil every 1-2 months i do mine like every 1 month...or after each race....that way it has fresh oil and not fried oil on it....and the auto last longer...

reminder: the shift kit dose kill the diff.....

just swap it.
you don't need to bleed the system.

swap the cooler over, i just used the valvoline stuff TQ95 or what ever its called for the BTR)

then just top the fluid up as required (always check fluid level after car has been driven)

mine are mounted behind the intercooler, offset to the drivers side.

thanks for the help guys, yous seem like you know your stuff.
ill go get some valvoline oil for it, just one more thing, where do i check the oil level from?

would it be ok if i put the oil cooler in myself, then drive straight down about 5km to get a transmission service because it hasnt had a service for about 10000km and i want it to have one. instead of them charging me like 120 to put the cooler in. is it easy to do a transmission service? if i tried it myself.

He has built alot of ford boxes and uses BA internals in the E series and rates them something like 400rwkw

I've got a stock tranny behind my 6psi Powerdyne setup, it's had no dramas.
I run a PWR tranny cooler on it (I can't remmeber now which 1 I ended up getting but).

being an EL it most likely has no dipstick.
so to check and fill fluid is an under car job.

Drivers Side, generally just behind the cat on the side of the trans.

How hard are your gear shifts, do they shake the car when it shifts.
I put a big oil cooler in last night and got a auto service and replaced the rear bush at the back of the auto.
And got the solenoid adjusted to shift just a little harder.
I hope it will go well.
