Im in the process of converting my ELXR8 ex chasser to manual have T5 /pedal kit from Mel Woods & all other parts still waiting on a fly wheel.
Do I have to do any electrical mods?
My car has a seperate computor for the auto gear box .
Auto is still in the car so I have unpluged the gear box computor & car still goes.

Went for a spin in the car today with auto still in & computer unpluged.
With gear box computer unpluged gear box stays in third gear so thinking I do not have to do any electrical work.

Hi,
You will need to trick the gearbox controll unit into thinking the old auto is still there using a few resistor's. If you dont do this, the ecu will think you are in reverse at all times and retard timing. I ended up doing this after a few months after my conversion, before i did it my car was so slow any hyundai getz would win in a traffic light show down, not a good feeling.
