I am new to this. I have a problem with my transmission in my falcon I was wondering if anyone could help me please?

Well a week ago I left my mate and I had no gears I got a block away then had no gears at all and I don't know y

But when I turned My car off then started it again I had gears but not for long

I have done that and it was ok I had the RAC out and even th said it was a tricky one

Is the fluid brown/burned? Check all the wiring also.

The fluid looks new in it it's little brown but clear it's not dark. And I'll have a look at the wiring what do u think it could be just a loose wire?

In all honesty mate I'd suspect more than just a loose wire, dirty/corroded contacts on the BIG plug that goes into the side of the transmission, or buggered wiring INSIDE the transmission. it could also be a badly plugged filter, so you could try a transmission service, but it wouldnt supprise me if it was something more major that requires removal of the transmission.

Ok so if the transmission is completely stuffed how hard is it to do an auto to manual conversion?

It is not hard to actually do a conversion.

The real hard part is locating the correct V8 T5 gearbox, as six cylinder ones are not a bolt in option. They rarely come up for sale 2nd hand, and when they do, they usually go for big dollars.

For a six cylinder, yes, at home in the garage with some assistance from great mates.

Not that much different between the two in the actual steps needed to be taken.
