i think you could be losing between 5-10% rwkw.

the first gear is ridiculously long and get used to sluggish performance off the line.

Yep, I'd be hanging onto those 3.9 diff gears if I were you.
You'll need them.

Not really, I believe a different handbrake cable is needed, and control arms and mounts are different as well
Just get the centers swapped.

If you enjoy fast standing start take offs, DO NOT BUY AN AUTO EQUIPPED E SERIES FALCON. They are very slow off the line up to about 60 kays. The manual is sooooo much more fun she aint funny.

My 2 cents.

yeah the manuals are more fun but remeber those peak torque and rwkw figures arent at 60km/h more like 145-160km/h so not often are u getting the real power from ya cars anywhoo.

I have an auto EF XR6 and auto EL XR8 and im happy with them both.

Have dragged one mate in particulars manual EF XR6 with my auto Ef xr6 and most of the time its anyones race and by then end of a good stretch up to say 130-150km/h the difference between us is next to nothing he just gets that tiny bit in front off the mark being the manual and that how it sorta stays......now he has an ITS Stage 3 PS and whips my a** but hey :P

With the shift kit...still wanna test how they really go..yet too... Robbo u up for another run :P. Least then you have the nice feel of a firm gear change.

Next is a larger transcooler and 3000rpm stall convertor

Yeah, there's alot of 'auto-hatin' on here :D
I have both, and while I do love my Sprint with the T5, I also love the pure lazy joy that my BTR equipped 'mont provides.
Driving a manual requires me to switch on the nerves to my left leg.
Auto I can fang around while only using half the brain capacity.
Plus while my timeslip begs to differ, changing diff gears goes a long way to helping the BTR get off the line.
