just scored a B&M Quicksilver auto shifter ratchet thingo. And it's going in the wagon, problem is cable wasn't included or any instructions or anything, so I'm just wondering how they connect to the gear changer stick thingo?
From what I've heard it's a steel rod, thin enough to flex and loop some, and a bracket needs to be put on the tranny box.

Don't you just use the cable that runs from your tranny to the shifter at the moment??

This 'thingo' (Lol) just replaces your shifter right?

nah, currently it's not a cable but pole type things. As far as I know the B&M uses a flexable rod in a tube (similar to the cable for a brake on a push bike), and a bracket mounts on the tranny and this rod pushes and pulls the gear selector.

nah...u cant use the standard s**t with a shifter... ive installed one of these and there was a fair bit involved, includung cutting the tunnel as the shifter will sit to high...Just pop down to your nearest auto shop (someone good like AutoPro or Auto 1) and get them to order in the cable. Tell them what shifter youve got & what car & theyll get you the right cable. When i done my mates, Auto 1 had one in stock & it was only $20

A BA shifter is so much more fun and not such a pain in the butt to use.
