hey
I got my hands on to a BA T5 fully rebuilt. Just when I got it home I found that there is only 1 switch. On the EL T5 isn't there 2 switches a reverse switch and a neutral switch? Anyway is it possible to do a BA T5 into a EL or should I just get an EL box?
thanks

hows it going? there are 2 switches on the earlier t5 1 is a 3 pin plug for speedo on the right hand side & the other i a 2 pin switch for reverse lights located on the left side 3/4 up, cant see any reason why it wouldnt fit maybe a bit of fiddling for reverse lights/speedo & maybe a bellhousing but that would be it. the guys at castlemaine rod shop would be able to help you out www.rodshop.com.au , good luck

I thought the extension housing and input shafts lengths were different, making unsuitable to put in an E series.

could be wrong though

Yeh input shafts are different so im changing the input shafts and input shaft bearing retainer. Yeh this box only has the switch on the passanger side of the box in the middle of the case. I'm guessing the BA gets it speed from the wheel speed sensors for the ABS. Does any body still think i'll still be able to perform this conversion?????????
