I need to know if anyone has fitted BA XR 6 Turbo susspension to a BA Fairmont Ghia.
I need to know the differance in ride height and if the springs are stiffer as well if the dampers are firmer.

Also would like to know if a Turbo system with the center muffler removed would be to loud for noise emmissions.

Are the Turbo BA front brakes any better than the Ghia set up.

Just need to know these things before I flog them off to my neighbour as don't want to stuff him around.

all help appreicated Thanks

Suspension is lower im pretty sure, firmer at the least - im pretty sure.

The exhaust shouldn't be louder, definately not breaking noise and emissions standards (It would be louder and more emmisions on a turbo)

Brakes I'm pretty sure are the same, unless they optioned up, pads might be different, but discs, calipers should be the same.
Should be twin piston (one circle each side of the caliper) the rears should be single piston (one circle on outside? of the caliper)

Hope this helps

Happy Motoring

All BA brakes are the same across the range unless they're optioned up on the XR's. These can be recognized by (from memory) slotted rotors and calipers painted black with the Ford logo on them. Most XR's have exactly the same brakes as the rest of the Falcon range from the XT through to Ghia.

The FPV's are different. And a Turbo's exhaust without a center muffler is seriously loud, mine was like that for a bit and it drove me to tears.. much better with an aftermarket system.

its not just the removal on a turbo that has a loud noise, the standard XR with the centre gone is just as loud... cheaper too!

Iam asking these questions as my friend wants my gear I have removed from my XR6T.

Turbo cars usually run quiter than n/a cars as the turbine muffels the exhaust a bit.

The exhaust that came off my car with my centre muffler removed was not as loud as my x-force 3.5 single.

Just concerned how loud this system would be on my friends ghia if he was to fit it.
i was hoping to get someone's opinion that may have done this already.
Event if someone has fitted a full XR6T system if they could tell me if it was quite enough to meet noise reg's and how quite or loud it maybe relation to say XR6T with its center muffler removed.

As for the suspension I would like to know if someone has done the change and what the result was,eg firmer ride, lower ride height by how much, how much a differance was found.

Also are the stabilizers the same or not as might give my friend these as well if I go to whitelines.

well the dump on the turbo is 3inch, you'll need to get it cut to fit the ghia exhaust... other than that, should be good to go
